Corporal punishment survey 11

Jenny I take it that if the offence was only involving yourself or only girls there would be no problem.

I certainly would expect boys to have trousers down if girls had skirts up.

Corporal punishment survey

Hi, I don’t know if this forum can help, but I’m trying to put together some realistic data regarding the use of corporal punishment in schools.

Reading this and other internet sources of information it is clearly very hard to distinguish between genuine accounts of CP, peoples fantasies, and role play.

School punishment books are difficult to find, or access. When they are available they only show the information that the establishments wished to disclose. They also only reflect official punishments, generally administered by the Head, consequentially they are not very representative of the general use of CP within schools.

If I study references in the media, the reports are generally only written when the incident was questionably outside the law. In England where I live, and indeed went to school, corporal punishment was legally practiced up until 1986. Therefore there would be no reason for the media to cover anything except the unusual.

Many of us however have witnessed (often first hand) the use of corporal punishment at school. If you have (as indeed have I) I’d be very grateful if you’d reply to this post giving as much accurate information as you feel comfortable with. However to keep this thread out of the realm of fantasy, I’d ask that you only post facts, and leave the creative writing and long discussions to other forums.

The information I’d love you to provide is the following:

About You:
Gender:
Approximate age when punished:
Approximate year of punishment:
Crime committed or alleged:

About the punishment
Administered by Head, or Staff member:
Gender of staff member:
Location punished (Classroom, Office, Hallway etc):
Type of punishment (Cane,Slipper,Paddle etc):
Number of strokes:
Applied to (Hand, Bottom, Legs etc):
Position adopted (Standing, Bending over Chair, Desk etc):
State of dress (Over Trousers/Skirt, panties, bare etc):
Privacy (In private, In front of Class, With another teacher etc):

About the school
Name of School:
Town:
Country:

Effectiveness
Were you ever punished again for the same offence?:
Do you consider the punishment effective?:

Any other relevant info:

Many thanks for your participation. I will reply to this post myself with the details of the CP I received.

Note: I see no reason why schools should not be named as they were operating completely within the law.

Why?

Surely most girls wore tights under skirts as well, and not many boys did!

So, lifted skirts & not dropped trousers left 2 layers of clothing per sex & equality of treatment.

Or equality of ill-treatment, as per your own opinion.

Hi Batfinch

Not necessarily. My objection would be to being unfairly singled out for special treatment: such as being given detention when others, who were just as guilty as I, were let off with the slipper. If the offence only involved me then the question is whether others (of either sex) would have received the same punishment if they had committed the same offence (all relevant factors being equal of course).

I think there could be an exception if a girl were wearing a skirt of a style that would prevent the cane having the desired (or undesired from the recipient’s point of view) effect. In such a case it would not be unreasonable to require her to lift her skirt, even though others were being caned through their skirts or trousers, but perhaps there could be a quid pro quo to even things out a bit.

Hi Jenny, I was caned across my briefs on two occasions and I don’t think I noticed an increase in the pain that I felt from the canings despite the loss of a layer of clothing. The punishments were still very painful and the marks took about the same time to dissipate as my canings across my shorts and trousers did.

This excellent thread originated by Robin has now topped the 100 post mark!

It encompasses a great variety of accounts of school corporal punishment. Punishments with implements ranging from the teacher’s hand through the ruler, the slipper, the martinet, the paddle, the tawse and the cane are described, in worldwide locations including the US, the UK, France and Australia. The great and the good of this estimable Forum’s regular contributors have described their extensive youthful transgressions and the painful consequences thereof. No less significantly infrequent contributors, or contributors to this one thread, have confessed their misdeeds or protested their innocence and recounted the penalties inflicted on them.

This is a thread that really must run and run, and so it remains only to say:

Hi Nathan

Were those canings administered by the same caner using the same amount of force though? Lesser force could be the quid pro quo I mentioned in my previous post. It always seemed worse to me when a stroke landed on my knickers but, in such cases, bare flesh was struck too. The expectation might have been a factor as well: I always felt more trepidatious when I was up for the slipper or cane and my skirt was a bit short.
Hi Steve

Not many of us wore tights at my school and, in any case, even 60 Denier tights aren’t really comparable with trousers. There is also the fact that a girl’s clothing would be adjusted but a boy’s would not.

If one is wearing trousers and the other a skirt, equal punishment can be given by caning both through their underwear (or bare) but, presuming the skirt isn’t too voluminous, a reasonable approximation can be achieved by caning both through their normal, outer, clothes anyway.

Hi Jenny,

The two times I was caned across my briefs were administered by my headmaster and he left a good 3-4 seconds between administering each stroke and I was bent across his desk and my shorts were lowered to my knees and my blazer had been flipped up my back so my bottom was fully displayed for the cane. The pain was excruciating but I don’t think that being caned over my briefs would have felt different than if he had allowed me to keep my short pants on.

Hi Jenny

Sorry took so long to respond. my sister and her friend were both thirteen at the time. I received the
more severe punishment because i had the packet of cigarettes in my blazer pocket so according to my
housemaster i was the instigator of the smoking offence. which was true i was sold the cigarettes by
another boy. I have never smoked since so it was a lesson well learnt

Hi Nathan,

Could you elaborate on the canings received by your sister and your wife. For instance, what year(s) did these canings take place, how old were they and what had they done to earn their punishment? In your wifes case how many strokes did she get etc?

Hi Nathan

I was just wondering if you were caned across your briefs with the same force as across your trousers/shorts.

You were lucky if you didn’t think it made any difference because your HM could administer what he thought would be a harsher caning (through your briefs) when, if fact, it wouldn’t be more painful.

Despite what you say, it still seems unfair to me if one is caned across underwear and another is caned across normal clothing when they both deserve the same punishment. I think there should be some reduction in the punishment (number of strokes or force behind them) if a skirt has to be lifted to allow the cane to be effective but, in such a case, perhaps the other(s) should be offered the same.
